Altar Servers assist the Priest during the Mass and other religious services throughout the year. An altar server attends to supporting tasks at the altar such as fetching and carrying, ringing the altar bell etc. Boys and girls are recruited from 2 years post-first communion upwards to assist the priest in the delivery of the Liturgy.
Do you have what it takes to become an Altar Server?
A Server should possess the following characteristics:
- Don’t fumble and stumble
- Don’t daydream, yawn or fall asleep
- Anticipate what might happen next
- Be able to work together in a team
Altar servers can also be called upon to serve at weddings, funerals and baptisms.
