Parish Bulletin

Welcome to our Parish!

Welcome and Céad míle fáilte to Roscommon Parish, home of the Sacred Heart Church, Roscommon Town and St Joseph’s Church, Kilteevan. Roscommon is a county town growing in size and prosperity with a population nearing 6,000 people. A vibrant and diverse market town, it is home to many tourist, sporting, cultural, commercial and administrative amenities. The name Roscommon comes from the Irish ‘RosComáin’ meaning ‘Saint Coman’s wood’, the name of the Saint who first built a monastery in the area. Our faith community continues to flourish and the spire of our beautiful Church can be seen from all approach roads to the town.
St Joseph’s Church is set in the beautiful village of Kilteevan, 5km from Roscommon Town. It is a vibrant community, rich in history and heritage which enjoys all the benefits of rural living but with all the amenities of Roscommon Town close by.

Get Involved in the Parish

We are called to use our gifts to enrich the lives of others around us.  There is a place for everyone from the very young to the more mature.

Services in the Parish

The Sacramental life of the Church draws us closer in our relationship with Jesus.  At Sacred Heart Parish we believe in offering not only in-depth preparation for the Sacraments but also a truly rich experience of all the Liturgies.

Schools in the Parish

We are delighted to have 6 wonderful schools in our parish. 3 National Schools in Roscommon town, 1 National School in Kilteevan and 3 Secondary Schools.
